WWP 2017 Courage Awards

As most of us already know, the catastrophic attacks that occurred on American soil on the morning of September 11, 2001, served as a stimulus for many organizations to help those affected by such tragic events. With a strong and committed mission to aid and empower wounded soldiers of battle when they return home, the Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) was born. WWP is a well-renowned organization that helps service members, veterans and their families who have incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound, as a result of their military service on or after September 11, 2001. As of July 1st, 2017, the WWP Alumni has surpassed 100,000 members.

WWP is equipped to serve warriors with every type of injury – from mental illness to the physical and invisible wounds of war. Their numerous programs support and encourage warriors during the adjustment process as they return to their lifestyles upon returning from battle. Over 48,000 service men and women have been physically injured in military engagements since 9/11. Many have paid the ultimate price, and here at MTM, we can only pay our respects and give honor and thanks to those that have defended our country and freedom.

Every year, WWP hosts the Courage Awards & Benefit Dinner to honor a selected few that have gone above and beyond the expected. It is a grand annual gala in honor of those who have sacrificed so much on behalf of our freedom. We were glad to participate in last year’s event and are appreciative to have been able to contribute to this year’s dinner.

This year, the Courage Awards & Benefit Dinner took place in New York on Thursday, June 1st. With 400 people in attendance, $88,375 was raised in donations and an additional $35,770 from the sale of items during the silent auction. As an official event sponsor, MTM Special Ops Watch gifted one (1) limited edition Black Cobra and one (1) limited edition Hypertec Chrono 2 to be auctioned off at the event. The limited edition timepieces were sold at almost twice their retail value, going towards the benefits and proceeds of the event. We hope the new owners of the MTM Cobra and Hypertec Chrono 2 are enjoying their new timepieces to the fullest. Built for the Soldier, the Athlete, the Modern Adventurer, and the Weekend Warrior, MTM Special Ops watches are Built for Action.

MTM is proud to support the Wounded Warrior Project and all of our other partners in efforts to provide our audience with resources to be the best version of themselves. Customize and shop for MTM Watches here.
